Food Photo Contest Expands Into Food Art

The Food Stories Monthly Photo Contest is officially one year old, this month, and continues to increase in popularity. We’ve always had a monthly prize of $25 for the winner that’s chosen by reader votes which is win/win for everyone. Last fall, as the contest grew, we decided to add an annual photo contest into the mix which has a prize of $100 dollars and is also chosen by readers votes. Every food photo that is entered into the monthly contest is automatically entered into the annual contest so everyone has the chance to win. Now, we’ve decided to expand even further into food art. Exciting, right?

Originally, the food photo contest was created out of my love for food and photography (you can read more about that here), as well as my need to stare at gorgeous pictures of food porn. Recently, I came across some gorgeous works of art that were food-related and I thought to myself, “Why am I only letting people enter food photos? All food is gorgeous no matter what medium it was created in” and the Food Photo & Art Contest was born.

There are practically no boundaries, here. If it’s related to food in any way, it probably needs to be in the monthly contest (which automatically feeds into the annual contest). I’m so excited about this newest development and can’t wait to see all of your food art and photos. Here are some examples to get your creative juices flowing …
