February 23rd is International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day. While I have no dogs in my home (we’re a cat family), I couldn’t get past the thought of trying to make dog treats. Since I have a friend at work that has two lovely canine’s, I thought I’d give it a go and share with all of you.
Although, I am an RN and food science / nutrition is a hobby of mine, I have no knowledge of what dogs can or cannot eat so I decided to attempt a recipe that would be fairly safe for any dog owner to try. This dog biscuit recipe from King Arthur Flour is where I landed. They claim that one of their staffers has had this recipe vet approved so I felt pretty safe moving forward.
For those of you that have been following Food Stories before, I did NOT tweak this recipe, at all. I made it AS IS with no changes since I have no idea what dogs would like :-)
Are these not the cutest things ever?
So cute & (I hope) tasty! Taking these to work with me and will be waiting to find out if they’re enjoyed.
UPDATE – My friend from work said her doggies ate these up and loved them. She’s gonna try to get a cute pic of them so I can share :)
Layla & Dudley enjoying their dog biscuits – I was told the photographing session was a bit of a challenge since they kept wolfing down their biscuits :-)
As you can see from this shot, my cat couldn’t really care any less about Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day :-)
