I eat a vegetarian diet most of the time but it’s pretty hard to say no to bacon. Bacon makes everything better, right?
When I do get the hankering for some bacon, I like to go for the best and for me that’s Organic Sunday Bacon by Applegate Farms. I like their’s because it’s uncured, nitrate free, organic and I can ship it in, put it in the freezer and use whenever I get the urge.
When I do get the urge, I do not want to mess with frying it in a pan and making a huge mess so I just place my strips on a rack placed in a baking baking pan and bake at 400 degrees for about 20-25 minutes. After I remove it from the oven, I dab with a paper towel to decrease the grease and then have a slice. The hubs and I get a few slices with breakfast and then we dice the rest to put in the fridge for salad toppings or other recipes.
Just to be clear, I have not been compensated in any way for this post; although, I wouldn’t pass up any free bacon if it came my way (hint/hint, Applegate Farms) :-)
