Hello, it’s me

Hello, it’s me
and it’s a very important day.

Adele has released her much-anticipated album, 25, it’s my husband’s birthday, and I’m re-entering the blogosphere after a significant time period away.

Adele is an amazing artist/singer, she’s won many awards, and the world has been waiting years for her next album. Her first release from her most recent project is called, Hello. If you haven’t seen the music video then now is the time—Her voice is amazing!

What I find so fascinating about this song is that even though the video is about a relationship between a man and a woman, Adele described in several interviews what the song was really about. As I previously mentioned, she has not put any music out in several years and this is because she had a baby and decided to focus her time on being a mother instead of chasing fame and fortune. During those years, she focused so much on her family that a lot of things, projects, and people were put on hold. She said this song was basically to all of her friends, family, and fans to re-establish her relationship with them. She basically said that life got in the way, she’s sorry, but she’s back now.

Carol (C.j.) Testing Low Carb Cookies

As you’ve probably noticed, this blog has been dormant for some time now and with no explanation, so I thought today was the day to come clean and re-connect with all my foodie friends. My situation is extremely similar to Adele’s as life just got in the way. I’m not ready to share all the specific details yet, but I have been seriously ill and unable to participate online on a regular basis. I have never disclosed this information to anyone and for that, I am sorry. I am working very hard to get back to my regular life routine as I battle my illness; however, every day is daunting.

I’ve missed talking food and nutrition with all of you and am hopeful that I can slowly work my way back to some type of normalcy. I hope you’ll be patient with me as I try to update the site, comb through the hundreds of comments and thousands of emails. If you need or want to connect with me in a reasonable time frame then leave a comment on this post as I would see that way before anything else.

Last but not least – Happy Birthday to my wonderful hubby!

    • Hi Kelli – I do still have the site, I just let it slide while my life fell apart, so to speak. I genuinely wish I could tell you that I’m doing better but I’m not, and I’m not a good liar so there you have it. I have one doctor that says I’ll never work again, another doctor that says I’ll work again, but not at the level I was before, and then another doctor that says my cluster of issues makes it hard to foresee the future and he just doesn’t know. I guess I just came to the conclusion that I need to at least attempt to get back to some type of normalcy while I ride this roller coaster and see where it takes me. So good to hear from you!

Carol you are an amazing woman! I miss sharing an office with you :) because you are such an insightful, bright, and wonderful woman. I know we havent known each other for long, but the conversations were so amazing, I feel as though I gained a friend and confidant…I hope for life. Stay positive and well, and I hope to chat with you soon! Hugs, christina

    • My dear Christina – Where do I start? First, thank you for all your positive comments and just know that the feelings are reciprocal. You know a little bit about my illness(s) and situation so just take that knowledge and multiply by ten. I’m really not joking. Transferring to the other facility was the worst possible thing I could have done, but it couldn’t be foreseen, so I’m trying to play the hand I was dealt. Thank you for being there for me and I hope to chat with you soon, as well. Happy Holidays!
