What’s Your Food Story? Request for Foodies, Writers, or just Food Writers!

Over the years, Food Stories has always extended opportunities for food writers to submit material to the site for guest publishing because who doesn’t love a great food story, right? Well, times they are a changing and now Food Stories NEEDS foodie content as opposed to just accepting guest bloggers from time to time.

Man with Question Mark

For the past couple of years, I’ve had some health issues that I’ve never talked about before and this past year, I faced an exacerbation, so I kind of just fell off the planet with no explanation. (Just check out my Hello, it’s me post for more information, if you’re interested.) Unfortunately, this site has sat dormant for almost a year; however, the good news is that the stats are still really good. I was shocked to see the traffic that the site still gets when it’s barely been touched in a year.

Now, I feel so guilty because the visitors to this site deserve so much more. Obviously, I’m going to try to start writing again, but I must be honest in the fact that my ability to cook/bake/photograph/blog/promote/etc. is now fairly limited because of my health situation.

Here’s where you come in. Food Stories NEEDS quality content so it can maintain its’ readership and maybe even begin growing again someday, when and if I’m able to go in that direction. So I’ve officially moved from “offering” to “asking”—No, BEGGING for quality food content.

Just for the record, the editorial standards haven’t changed, just the need for more quantity. I truly hope that you can find it in your heart to work with me on this; and I will help you with editing and promotion, just like I’ve done for all the writers that have submitted work in the past. Our stats are still pretty good so you could get some great promotion out of working with me. Just take a peak:

  • Page-views (last 30 days): 159,682
  • Unique Visitors (last 30 days): 16,642
  • Twitter: 148,000 followers
  • Pinterest: 9,100 followers
  • Facebook: 2,954 likes
  • Tumblr: 752 followers
  • Google+: 154 followers

Please see below for a past, typical invitation for food-related material. It might give you an idea of the types of posts that have been utilized or who’s been involved in the past. If you have an idea for a piece you’d like to write, then just drop me a line and we can chat about it.

What’s your food story?

Apple & Book

Food is such an important part of our lives. The relationship we have with food penetrates every aspect of our society today from our own family traditions, to nutrition, to culture, to personal taste and to our own health.

With this in mind, Food Stories is happy to extend the opportunity for guest bloggers to post their own food stories on our site. Submissions are being accepted for any recipes or articles related to food. You could write about your own food experiences, a humorous story about your family food, food as medicine, special diets, nutrition, food science, cultural aspects of food or anything, really.
