Jen - Juanita's Cocina

Hi! I’m Jen from Juanita’s Cocina! And I try to serve up a funny story with my food. It’s my way of playing with my food without getting TOO dirty. What’s better than a story while you’re enjoying something yummy? My favorite food blogs share their favorite stories as a side dish too! (Make sure you don’t talk with your mouth full, though.) I can’t wait to hear and see your food stories!

Treats & Trinkets

Hi, I’m Kim! I’m a writer/reader/baker/beader. I love words… And cupcakes… And words about cupcakes… And words that have nothing at all to do with cupcakes. I believe that everyone has a story inside of them, just waiting to be told. I also know that the hardest parts of telling a story are finding a way to tell it and putting yourself out there in order to tell it. So don’t worry; I’m not judging you. Well, technically I am, but I’m not judging you. I think you rock.

The Messy Baker

Hiya! I’m Jennie, also known as The Messy Baker. I’m a food lover at heart. I eat, sleep, and dream food. I’m a tad bit obsessed with frosting, sprinkles, and all things sweet. Spreading happiness through food is what I do best. For me, food equals love, and what better way to show it than through a cupcake? I can be reached at themessybakerblog@gmail.com

Go Bake Yourself

Hi to all! My name is Uru and now, in May 2012, I am 16 and a half years old trying to balance my love of baking and blogging with my semi-love of school :D I believe food tastes better with a story, that if it has context, a background, it has more meaning in it! I am so proud to be part of this amazing program started by C.J and look forward to reading all your stories without a doubt! Do I have a story? Looks like we will have to get to know each other better through this to find out :)

Young Grasshopper

I’m Heidi from Young Grasshopper. I’m proud, honored & excited to be a Food Story Judge. Here’s to ALL the nominees. We all come with a story & there’s NOTHING better. Mine is shared on Young Grasshopper and was inspired by my Mom, Ruthie, who was THE cook when I was growing up; Ruthie passed after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease and I share many Food Stories about my family now and Ruthie then & everything in between. I write as an homage to both who she was and who I’ve become, I cannot wait to read your stories. I can be reached at heidisuewebb@yahoo.com

Food Stories

I love food and all things food-related. Being a nurse, I especially like the food science/nutritional aspect, as well as, typical food preparation, recipes and eating (of course). But my favorite aspect of food is how personal it is for all of us and how it touches our lives. Food is fascinating on a number of levels. The emphasis that we place on food is incredible when you think about culture and traditions such as birthdays, holidays, religious, etc. For a lot of people it’s how love is expressed to the closest in our lives and for others it’s how we express solace to the bereaved. No matter what your food story is, please feel free to share your story with us.
